Frederick J. Duffy, Jr., MD, specializes in breast reconstruction and is one of the founding partners of North Central Surgical Center. Dr. Duffy has been in practice since 1997, and received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College. Dr. Duffy went on to receive his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
After working as an emergency medical technician throughout high school, Dr. Duffy learned early on in his life that he wanted to become a physician. He cites his outstanding colleagues and the staff of North Central Surgical Center as one of his favorite reasons to come to work, as well as his excellent patients.
“I have had many wonderful moments as a doctor, but one of the best was saving a 10-year-old boy’s foot early in my practice career after he had lost his other leg to a severe infection,” Dr. Duffy said. “He went on to play high school football and is now married.”
Additionally, Dr. Duffy has a long-standing commitment to service and has spent many years in Haiti, providing plastic surgical care as well as physician education to the Caribbean nation’s people.
When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Duffy enjoys spending time and eating in the backyard of his Dallas home. He is currently reading “The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History” by Elizabeth Kolbert.
