New Graduate Nurse Program

Application opens in September and February for fall and spring graduates. The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program and will have taken and passed the NCLEX by start date. Current RNs with less than 1-year experience considering a change in specialties will be considered. Length of program is 16 weeks and includes classroom time, simulation lab, shadow days, and hands on training.

Master of Health Administration Operational Internship

North Central Surgical has collaborated with the UNT Dallas & Fort Worth campuses MHA program since 2015 to have interns rotate through the hospital.

Operating Room Nurse Internship

The North Central Surgical Center Hospital Operating Room Nurse Intern Program will prepare experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide quality patient care the surgical patient using evidenced-based practices aligned with guidelines published by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), and the Association of periOperative Nurses (AORN).

The Program design concentrates on the RN Circulator role in the operating room. The course is a rigorous blended educational program using the evidence-based curriculum, PeriOp 101 3.0, the textbook, Alexander’s Care of the Patient in Surgery by Rothrock, hands-on skills labs and instructor led classes on how to apply the curriculum in the organization’s clinical settings. The Instructor has 30+ years educating Registered Nurses in the operating room specialty.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program who has a current Texas RN License with no impingements. Applicants should have completed two to three years of nursing practice in medical-surgical nursing or an equivalent setting. The individual must have the ability to handle stress, problem-solve under stressful situation, lift heavy objects on a daily basis, work with multiple personality and communication styles, accept critique and authority from multiple individuals, and work independently with little patient interaction.

Surgical Technologist Student Clinical Rotation Site

El Centro Surgical Technology Students

 

The operating rooms will host two surgical technology students from El Centro for nine months. Students will receive hands-on training from experienced North Central healthcare providers on-site with the opportunity to be recruited in the field of surgical technology. Students will also second scrub with Lead Surgical Technologists as they begin their clinical rotations at North Central.
